There was not much of a surprise in the Division I championship game, as Narbonne won their third title in four years, but Hamilton in the Division II bracket and Los Angeles in the Division III bracket were different stories as both capped off their seasons as champions.
The Paul Knox era at Dorsey comes to an end
All great things must come to an end. For Paul Knox, who is one of that greatest high school football coaches in Los Angeles City Section history, his time ended this past Monday when Dorsey High School Principal Reginald Sample informed the long-time coach that the program was going to head in a new direction.
Ski Dazzle hits the L.A. Convention Center
The most important ski and snowboarding trip of the season is this weekend, right here in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Ski Snow & Snowboard Expo, better known as Ski Dazzle, hits the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event features “A world of skiing and snowboarding under one roof.”
Doc Rivers helps bring awareness to the health needs of children
Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was joined by TV personality Mark Long and student volunteers at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to pack 2,000 care packages of fresh fruit and vegetables, which will be sent out to various community organizations.

As usual in the City Section’s Division I playoffs, the top eight seeds cruised into the second round. With the bottom eight seeds out of the way, the action now begins.

After 10 weeks of play, the unthinkable happened: Hamilton dethroned Venice as Western League champions. Entering this season, Venice had not lost a league game since 2004, and won every league title since 2005. But they were knocked off by University earlier this season, and Hamilton dominated them in a 25-0 victory to end their reign.
Record breaking Captain Barrington Irving flies into Compton
The students at Davis Middle School in Compton, joined by hundreds of others from Bunche, Enterprise, Roosevelt, Vanguard, Walton, Whaley, and Willowbrook middle schools, were treated to a special guest, who was flown in by helicopter.
