Crenshaw Boulevard has been a recent site for contruction, including the new Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project. With a major undertaking such as this, various sections of the street have been shut off to foot traffic, which has affected a number of businesses.

Deon Barney prepares himself for big moments. Whether it is tackling a ball carrier on the football field, grabbing rebounds on the basketball court, sprinting down the track in a big race, or taking an exam in the classroom, he’s a teenager who knows that he will do well because he worked hard in practice and stayed up late to study.

Elementary and middle school student/athletes competed in track and field events at West Adams High School this past Friday, as the Special Olympics Southern California partnered with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
Skaters are hitting the beach
Skateboarders in Los Angeles have it pretty good. While some areas of the country are snowed in, or dealing with harsh winter weather, local thrill seekers are enjoying 70-80 degree weather, which allows them to hit the streets and perfect their best tricks.
Another perk of living in this city is that they have access to the Venice Skatepark, which was built on the sand of Venice Beach. The 16,000 square feet of concrete attracts the best action sports athletes in the area.

There are a number of interesting layers to Mousael Louis. The senior at Dorsey High School is of Haitian decent. She speaks English, French, and Haitian Creole fluently, and understands Spanish. She has a 4.2 grade point average while taking the maximum amount of advanced placement classes, and she is looking to win the track and field City Section championship in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, as well as help the 4×100-meter and 4×400-meter teams win titles.
Recreation and parks host adult sports league
Sports is typically played by children, as most people do not continue on to the college or professional ranks. People generally become spectators as family and work becomes the priority over finding glory on a field or court. And for most people, the body just cannot defeat Father Time.
Price coach Michael Lynch reaches 500 wins
Price High School boy’s basketball coach Michael Lynch continues to add to a historic resume, as he recently led his team to the 500th win during his tenure. Over the course of 19 years that he has served as the head coach, Price has won six state titles, eight regional titles, 10 division titles, and 11 league titles. His teams have won 83.6 percent of their games, as they only have 98 defeats.

For professional football fans in the greater Los Angeles area, dreams of an NFL team returning could be on the verge of becoming a reality. Plans to build a stadium in Inglewood are moving very fast. Faster than a project of this magnitude typically moves.
