The Harold and Carole Pump Foundation announced today that Anthony Anderson will be honored next month at the foundation’s 26th annual celebrity dinner in Beverly Hills.
Anderson, best known for starring as Andre “Dre” Johnson on ABC’s “black-ish,” will be recognized for his health advocacy and philanthropic efforts, including the annual Anthony Anderson Celebrity Golf Classic and his support of the American Diabetes Association, the Los Angeles Mission and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, according to the foundation.
A longtime supporter of the Harold and Carole Pump Foundation, Anderson will be honored alongside Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and players Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Miguel Rojas, Andy Pages and Kiké Hernández, organizers said. The foundation raises funds for cancer research and treatment.
“I am truly honored to be recognized by the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation and to be part of an evening that brings together people who are passionate about giving back,” Anderson said in a statement. “Throughout my career and in my personal life, I’ve seen the power of community, advocacy and coming together to support one another. I’m proud to stand with the Pump family and everyone who continues to fight for better health outcomes and a brighter future for those affected by cancer.”
Organizers said the Aug. 20 celebrity dinner at the Beverly Hilton will feature silent and live auctions of sports memorabilia, travel experiences, VIP tickets and other items.
