Tricksters and “frenemies” in politics will seemingly always rise up to make public comments or demonstrations on the state of things, particularly when that state is not good.
Besides continually making painful jokes about the state of Trump’s attempts at beautifying Washington, D.C. in his “farmer bumpkin” style – for example, the Lincoln Memorial pool fiasco is fast becoming legendary – there is apparently a new razz on the Trump-as-joke meme making the rounds in the capital: the Trump War Plans Statue on the D.C. National Mall.
Essentially, the aim of a large new trophy statue left surreptitiously on the mall – and just discovered this past Monday by Americans unknown – is to present a participation trophy to Mr Trump for spoiling America’s international reputation as the number one military in the world.
The large trophy replica says it is being awarded to Mr Trump for starting a nonsensical, lacklustre war in Iran – which did not attack us first – yet has only achieved a stalemate so far, a fact that was already present before the war.
So far, the authors and agents of the award have not identified themselves or been identified by other means. The huge award trophy clearly was meant to be a major troll of the president and his U.S. Department of War accomplices.
Printed on the trophy statue is the message: “We hereby award President Donald J. Trump this participation trophy for his enthusiastic involvement in the Iran War. While some concern themselves with military strategy, diplomacy, or measurable outcomes, President Trump demonstrated the courage to participate regardless of the final score…”
The message continued, “As the recipient of this prestigious award, President Trump joins the ranks of children everywhere who received recognition for simply showing up.”
Calling themselves “The Secret Handshake”, the authors and creators of this underground Trump protest group are actually an anonymous amalgamation of artists and cultural performers who have previously installed prank statues in Washington parks throughout the Trump administration.
Trump has reportedly ordered the Justice Department to find and arrest the jokesters so he can parade them before the U.S. So far, there have been no sightings. Robin Hood lives.
