United Empowerment Foundation (UEF) marked its seventh year of service in the Greater Los Angeles area by hosting its annual Holiday Give Back, serving 260 families with children at Foster Elementary School in Compton.

For the second consecutive year, Foster Elementary School became the site of the highly anticipated holiday celebration, transforming the neighborhood school into a festive hub of hope and generosity. Through its continued partnership with the Compton Unified School District, families with the greatest need were identified and referred by school and district partners, ensuring resources reached those most impacted by economic hardship.

The return to Compton holds deep personal significance for UEF Founder and Executive Director K. Latrice Gwin, a Compton native dedicated to reinvesting in the community that helped shape her.

“Compton is home for me,” said Gwin. “Being able to bring this event back for a second year after seven years of service across Los Angeles County is incredibly meaningful. This isn’t charity; it’s community. It’s about coming home and showing up for families with love, intention, and consistency.”

The large-scale celebration provided families with holiday gifts, warm meals, hygiene kits, and a festive holiday brunch, all hosted in a beautifully decorated Foster Elementary School auditorium. The event delivered dignity, relief, and joy during a season that can be especially challenging for families facing financial insecurity.
