Because he’d already “poisoned the well” with false voter fraud charges for four years about the 2020 election, most people stayed away from looking too hard at the 2024 election results. That was a fatal flaw. Cheaters who’ve already played their hand loudly and consistently claiming illegality in others are usually a cinch to cheat directly as soon as the next opportunity presents itself. We did not pay enough attention. But the fact remains, as just demonstrated in an overall analysis by writer-activist Greg Palast, that the Trump forces gamed the system. Trump should have lost, not won. To wit, self-proclaimed citizen vigilante political hawks demanded the purging of millions of democratic voters from the state rolls in August-September, 2024. Though the investigations into these citizens’ legalities went forward and some of them did get to vote, a few million of them did not get proper clearance to vote until after the election.
According to Mr. Palast,
A. 4,776,706 voters were wrongly purged
from state voter rolls according to data from
the US Elections Assistance Commission;
B. By August of 2024, for the first time since
1946, self-proclaimed “vigilante” voter-fraud
hunters (not official hires of anyone) chal
lenged the voting rights of over 317,886 voters.
The NAACP of Georgia estimates that by
Election Day, those types of challenges exceed
ed 200,000 in Georgia alone.
C. No less than 2,121,000 mail-in ballots were
disqualified for minor clerical errors (e.g.,
postage due).
D. At least 585,000 ballots cast in-precinct
were also disqualified.
E. 1,216,000 “provisional” ballots were rejected
and never counted.
F. 3.24 million new registrations were rejected
or not entered on the rolls in time to vote.
G. A Washington State audit found that a
Black voter was 400 percent more likely than a
white voter to have his or her mail-in ballot
rejected.”
H. No less than 2,121,000 mail-in ballots were
disqualified for minor clerical errors (e.g.,
postage due).
I. At least 585,000 ballots cast in-precinct were
also disqualified.
J. Over 1,216,000 “provisional” ballots were
rejected and never counted.
K. 3.24 million new registrations were rejected
or not entered on the voter rolls in time to
vote.
L. There was a regular pattern of outright
rejection of Black in-person votes, according to
a US Civil Rights Commission study in
Florida, amounting to 14.3 percent or one in
seven ballots cast.
M. According to official stats, over 2,121,000
mail-in votes went into the electoral dumpster.
Since 2020, the Democrats have favored mail-
in ballots.
Far from the “overwhelming voter mandate,” also called “an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” Mr. Trump and his ilk claimed in the 2024 count, in the popular vote Mr. Trump won by millimeters, not miles: essentially 49.79 million to 48.36 million. And he got away with it.
Hopefully, we won’t have a president-for-life situation. We have to hope for the best given the worst.
