This week, partners CalOSBA (California Office of the Small Business Advocate) and REDF (Roberts Enterprise Development Fund), distributed their second disbursement of grant funds to PVJOBS (Playa Vista Job Opportunities and Business Services). The nonprofit celebrated with State Sen. Lola Smallwood-Cuevas (28th District) in hosting the event at its offices at 4112 S. Main St. in South Los Angeles.

CalOSBA and REDF launched the CA RISE program in September as the nation’s first, $25 million investment in employment social enterprises (ESEs). ESEs are companies which hire people with systemic barriers to employment. PVJOBS will receive an oversized check representing their grant following a facility tour and remarks from Smallwood-Cuevas.
