Carson earns AA financial rating

As of lately, there have been some recent developments happening in Carson. One of the recent developments includes the City of Carson announcing that their credit rating has drastically improved, going from AA- to AA by S&P Global Ratings. This upgrade reflects the city’s financial management, positive budgetary operating and a growing economic base.
“This upgrade is a clear indicator of Carson’s financial strength and stability,” said Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes. “It underscores our commitment to fiscal responsibility and our ongoing efforts to ensure Carson remains a prosperous and thriving community.” City Manager David C. Roberts, Jr. also expressed his satisfaction with the rating upgrade, stating, “This achievement is the result of careful planning and disciplined financial management. It positions Carson favorably for future growth and allows us to continue providing exceptional services to our residents.”
S&P Global Ratings highlighted Carson’s positive budgetary operations and strengthening economic base as key factors in the upgrade. The City of Carson will continue to prioritize sound financial practices to ensure that it remains on a stable footing and continues to serve its residents effectively.

The second new development in Carson is the Carson Family Festival–also known as Fam Fest–scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 24 at Stevenson Park, 17400 Lysander Dr., in Carson. This event is free and open to the public of all ages and is sure to be a day filled with fun, music and community spirit. Entertainment artists include gospel artist Deitrick Haddon who is best known for his albums, “ Lost and Found” and “Church on the Moon” and DW3 who is known for their fusion of musical genres. The event will be emceed by KJLH’s Aundrae Russell.
Fam Fest is a cherished tradition and held every third weekend of August which brings families together and fosters a sense of collective love and meaningful fellowship. “Fam Fest is a celebration of the entire Carson family. From the inclusive atmosphere, delicious food and treats, and nonstop fun, this is a festival you won’t want to miss,” said Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes.
