It’s been five years, but the “Jazz at Drew” returns on Sept. 21 from noon to 8: 30 p.m. The concert series is hosted by the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Watts.
The 2024 Jazz at Drew concert is not just an event; it’s a community festival that underscores the transcendent power of music, celebrating cultural diversity and promoting CDU as a community-founded institution. This year, they eagerly anticipate welcoming an audience of 2,000 – 3,000 people to our campus, fostering music for a great mission! This will be the 23rd occurrence of the Jazz at Drew concert since its debut in 1991. This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable experience with a lineup that includes Grammy-winning guitarist Norman Brown, Grammy-nominated vocal group DW3, The Lao Tizer Band featuring Grammy-winning saxophonist Eric Marienthal, and powerful vocalist Erin Stevenson, with another act to be announced on Sept. 1.
This not-to-be-missed event stands out for its commitment to showcasing premier talent with a focus on fostering a connection with the vibrant, ethnically diverse community that surrounds us. Ticket prices range from $50 to $800 (VIP). Purchase tickets at www.cdrew.edu/jazz-at-drew.
