Backpack giveaway in Carson

Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes, in partnership with the Carson Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation and the Julia Banks Williams DELTA Foundation, is thrilled to announce the 7th Annual Back to School Backpack Giveaway. This highly anticipated community event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at the South Bay Pavilion Mall.
This year’s event promises to be a heartwarming and joyous occasion as we support our Carson students in their educational journeys. We are proud to provide 500 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to Carson residents, ensuring our children are well-prepared for the upcoming school year.
The backpack giveaway operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and participants must provide proof of Carson residency to receive a backpack. We encourage families to arrive early, as supplies are limited.
Davis-Holmes expressed her excitement about the event, stating, “This annual giveaway is a testament to our community’s dedication to education and our commitment to supporting our young scholars. We are grateful for the partnership with the Carson Citizens
Cultural Arts Foundation, the Julia Banks Williams DELTA Foundation, and the generous support of the SouthBay Pavilion,” she said.
Eligible Carson residents are invited to this event which is to ensure that every child in need has the opportunity to receive a backpack.
