A woman claimed to have been injured on June 17 after being exposed to a suspicious chemical liquid by a passing vehicle in Palmdale. Deputies assigned to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded at approximately 5:50 p.m. to the 800 block of West Palmdale Boulevard, between
10th Street West and Trade Center Drive, to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Sheriff’s officials said a woman was walking outside a business moments before a white pickup truck had slowed down and sprayed an unknown liquid toward her direction, along with another victim.
The woman said she sustained injuries, but sheriff’s officials later stated that the liquid appeared to be water. The woman refused to submit a criminal report regarding the alleged assault, authorities said. The suspect who deployed the liquid fled in an unknown direction. It remains unclear what motivated him to allegedly throw or spray the liquid on the victims.
