If you’ve got paper in need of recycling, then the city of Carson is here for you! On Saturday, April 20, Carson is hosting a free e-waste recycling and paper shredding event from 8 a.m. to noon at the Carson City Hall parking lot, 701 E. Carson St., in Carson.

Electronics such as computers, monitors, televisions, cell phones, ink and toner cartridges, printers, microwaves, cable and wires, and laptops can be recycled.  This is a great way to clean out your home and garage and help protect the environment.

All papers brought to the parking lot will be shredded on-site. Proof of Carson residency is required to participate. Commercial and business waste will not be accepted. Only two file boxes per household are permitted. Items that are unacceptable include hazardous waste, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and glass.

For more information, call the Carson Public Works Office from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at (310) 847-3520.
