Tomorrow at Palmdale Playhouse

The City of Palmdale will be hosting the Fentanyl Awareness Symposium. The symposium will take place on Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Palmdale Playhouse, 38334 10th St. East. The symposium is set to offer essential information and education opportunities.

“Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid that poses significant risks to our community,” said Palmdale Mayor Austin Bishop. “To address this pressing issue, Palmdale has organized the Fentanyl Awareness Symposium featuring informational sessions and interactive activities aimed at increasing education and fostering awareness.”

Expert speakers and those with personal experiences related to fentanyl will be featured at the symposium. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn effective strategies for discussing drugs with family members and receive training on administering the overdose medication naloxone. Naloxone take-home kits will be available. Students who attend for a three-hour minimum have the opportunity to complete community service hours.

Interactive games and activities, and food trucks will be on site. The drug scene has become more dangerous due to deception, easy online access, and synthetic opioids. No registration is required.
