Organics recycling workshop on April 6


At Marie Kerr Center

Residents are invited to learn about organic recycling during the SB 1383 Workshop on Saturday, April 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Marie Kerr Recreation Center, 2723-A W. Rancho Vista Blvd. Those who attend will receive a kitchen counter food pail and have additional chances to win a family four-pack of DryTown All-Access Season Passes in this month’s giveaway.

Plan, prepare and familiarize yourself with the regulations and requirements of State Senate Bill 1383 during the workshop. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

•  Gain an understanding of SB 1383 and its 

    importance in waste reduction efforts.

•  Learn practical tips for recycling organics 


•  Engage in discussions with City staff and ask 

   questions regarding solid waste.


“SB 1383 is a statewide effort to reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses, reminding us of our responsibility to recycle organic materials,” said Palmdale Mayor Austin Bishop. “By doing so, we’re not only following the law, but also creating a cleaner environment and more sustainable future for Palmdale.”

 In addition, residents can win a family four-pack of DryTown All-Access Season Passes by completing workshop-related activities. Gather entries into the giveaway by:

•  Registering for the workshop (1 entry)

•  Sharing the event announcement on 

    social media (1 entry)

•  Attending the workshop in person (5 entries)

•  Completing the Solid Waste Quiz (2 entries)


The four-pack of DryTown All-Access Season Passes hold a value of $340. The giveaway winner will be announced on Monday, April 25, on social media and the Solid Waste webpage.
