Chaka Khan is set to celebrate 50 years of excellence and a phenomenal career on Jan. 27 at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State LA. This celebration will be a fun-filled event and will consist of surprises and once-in-a-lifetime moments. In addition, there will be a pre-show reception and Q & A with the current president of RIAA. 

Chaka Khan’s musical career has impacted pop, soul, jazz, and funk music since she rose to stardom. With over 70 million music sales and streams, Aretha Franklin coined Chaka Khan as “ one-of-a-kind premier vocalist”. Prince, Whitney Houston, Lizzo and Erykah Badu have all looked to Khan as a major influence.

Khan, former lead singer of the band Rufus, has released 21 studio albums, with 10 being certified Gold and Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Chaka Khan has accumulated ten number #1 singles. She is also the last woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2023.
