Cyclist enthusiasts have a free, fun, and exercise-inducing day to look forward to this weekend, as Tour de Carson makes its way through the city of Carson. The city of Carson will host its 55th Anniversary Celebratory with the Tour de Carson event scheduled Aug. 12 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cal State Dominguez Hills, 1000 E. Victoria Street, in Carson.
There will be an Explorer Ride that lasts 20 miles, beginning at 9 am. There will also be a Family Adventure Ride that begins at 9:30 am and finally a Bike Safety Rodeo from 9:45 am to 11:45 am. Bicycle education is important, please remember to practice bicycle safety. Bike helmets are required for all children participating.
There will be a mini-training class in the parking lot which will allow riders not yet ready for the open road to practice cycling skills. Promotional items will be available with a meal voucher while supplies last. Food and beverages will be available for purchase to all attendees. It will be a fun-filled day, pre-registration is encouraged but not necessary.
