Exciting entertainment this summer in Antelope Valley

In Palmdale and in Lancaster

The Antelope Valley is home to many cities within the high desert plains and high temperatures to match. In addition to the high temperatures, there are opportunities for entertainment in many arenas including the Palmdale Playhouse, Palmdale Amphitheater, and the Summer Concert Series Presented by Toyota.  The Summer Concert Series is held in conjunction with the BLVD MARKET. All events are available open to the public and some are available upon purchase of tickets, while other events are free of charge.

The Palmdale Playhouse has three upcoming plays from the month of July until the end of August. The first concert coming up is the Gibson’s Music Studio’s 2023 Summer Concert. The Gibson’s Music Studio’s Summer Concert is scheduled to take place on July 16 at 4 p.m. The concert will feature a creative collective of songs from groups and artists such as the Goo Goo Dolls, the Beatles, Carrie Underwood and Meghan Trainor. Tickets are available online at www.palmdaleplayhouse.com for $10.

The second performance is at the end of July and is entitled Super Heroes Unite! Super Heroes is scheduled for July 22 at 6 p.m. The performance is presented by Jr. Summer Theatre Camp, which is a camp hosted by the Palmdale Playhouse for children ages nine to eleven. The play is designed to be a comedic and made-up characters acting as heroes. Ticket prices range from seven to 22 dollars.The play is a function of hard work from the children participating in the Jr. Summer Theatre Camp.

The Palmdale Amphitheater is hosting Family Movie Nights featuring “Puss in Boots The Last Wish” at 6 p.m. July 21. The event begins at dusk and there are many family fun events from 6  P.M.-7:30 P.M. Tickets are three dollars and twenty-five cents. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are the only acceptable forms of payment. Kids twelve and under are admitted free of charge, parents and or guardians must attend alongside children. Food, non-alcoholic drinks, lawn chairs and blankets are allowed. Coolers and bags will be inspected and food and snacks will be provided.

The Summer Concert Series is set to host two concert lineups for the remaining portion of July. The concerts are free and connected to the BLVD Market in Lancaster. Performances will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday evenings. The Metal Shop will be playing on July 20 and featuring the best in metal music. The Funk Doctors will be taking the stage on July 27 and will feature plenty of retro, funk, soul and neo-soul. Lawn chairs and comfy shoes are encouraged, there are BLVD restaurants available, including Don Sal Cocina, and Cantina Patio.
