Dr. Sian Proctor

Dr. Sian Proctor is the first African-American woman to pilot a spacecraft, the Inspiration4, in 2021. Prior to her service with NASA, Proctor conducted ground-based studies involving analog astronauts (simulated space conditions) at laboratories and research facilities around the world. She was selected to The Explorer’s Club 50: Fifty People Changing the World and formerly served as a geology and planetary science professor at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Ariz. Proctor is the author of the book “Space2Inspire: The Art of Inspiration.”
