March 22 at Legacy Commons

The City of Palmdale is hosting a Public Safety Forum on Wednesday, March 22, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Legacy Commons, 930 E Ave Q-9. Participants include the Public Safety division; LA County Sheriff’s Department Palmdale Station; LA County Fire Department; California Highway Patrol; Valley Oasis; and other community partners in this interactive, multi-agency event.

Participants will learn about current programs, share concerns regarding crime and safety, and explore ideas for developing a community-oriented approach to address these issues. A youth element is included for those 13 years of age and older. Spanish translation will be available upon request. Space is limited, so register now at https://bit.ly/publicsafetyforum23.

“Everyone benefits when we work together to solve tough issues,” said Palmdale Mayor Laura Bettencourt. “Without our residents’ and community’s help and support, we will not find lasting solutions. Take this first step and participate in this Public Safety Forum.”

Youth will have access to information and sign-ups for programs with the Palmdale Youth Employment Program; Fire Explorers Program; California Highway Patrol Explorers Program; Sheriff’s Explorers; and Vital Intervention and Directional Alternatives (VIDA) Programs.

Adults will be participating in workshops covering the topics of homelessness, LA County Sheriff Mental Evaluation Team (MET), traffic safety, crime trends, active shooter response and graffiti. Be prepared to select four issues of interest for the allotted time.
