Performing the timeless standards

Come join the party at the Palmdale Playhouse with This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Big Band performing on Saturday, March 18, at 8 pm. These Los Angeles' top musicians, led by the high-and-hard blowing trumpet of Rex Merriweather, draw from the bands of Buddy Rich, Brian Setzer, Three Dog Night, Maria Muldaur, Eric Burdon and The Animals, Harry James, Rod Stewart, The Urban Renewal Project, and more.

The reason for the title, This Ain't Your Daddy's Big Band, is because beyond the spicy Latin, timeless standards, and contemporary favorites, this rocking jazz band kicks out wicked takes of TV and Film hits. They also set on fire charts made famous by Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangione, and Tower of Power. Featuring the vocal chops of artists like Christine Chaulsett, Don Lucas, and Matt Phairas, they come out swinging hard.

Tickets are $17 for adults and $15 for seniors, students, military, and ages 12 and under and are available at www.PalmdalePlayhouse.com. Buy tickets today to choose the best seats available through the self-selection seating, now available for Playhouse events.

Tickets for all performances are available at the Box Office beginning one hour before the show. Note that the Playhouse no longer accepts cash; Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are the only forms of payment accepted at the box office and concession stand.

Be aware that, due to road construction on 10th St. East, access to the Playhouse is only available from the North via Palmdale Blvd. Please plan to arrive early to avoid delays.
