100 Black Men of Los Angeles is kicking off its female mentoring program “See Your Future” at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 in room 305 of the TLC building at West LA College, 9000 Overland Ave.

This orientation is for female middle and high school students, parents and/or guardians.

“Mentoring is the cornerstone of what the organization brings to the community by guiding youth in life experiences, fostering a positive self-perception, self-respect, encouraging excellence in education, and the pursuit of positive life-long goals,” said Program Director Dr. Sudonna Moss.

The community-based mentoring program meets during the school year from January through May on the second and fourth Saturday of the month on the WLAC campus.

The program works with several others sponsored by the 100 Black Men organization.

“We develop and foster relationships between the See Your Future Female Mentoring Program, Young Black Scholars and Community Partners, in order that this relationship would lead to heightened self-esteem for the girls through improved family relations, academic success, social and financial responsibility,” said. Moss.
