Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson (8th District), non-profit It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU) and Baldwin Hills Crenshaw (BHC), will host the Annual Winter Wonderland at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Shopping Center, with a 15,000+ toy giveaway on Saturday, Dec.10 from noon to 4 p.m.
This event will take place indoors and outdoors to celebrate the holiday and community. Kids and their families will have access to toy giveaways, community resources, children’s activities, live entertainment, a job fair, and more.
“While this is IBTU’s third annual holiday giving initiative, it is our first partnership with both BHC and Council District Eight on their Annual Winter Wonderland. To collaborate alongside these community powerhouses for an incredibly large-scale giving event for the holiday season in a place I call home, is exemplary of the impact we have made and will make in this partnership,” said CEO Tyrone Nance, IBTU Founder.
“We are also excited to work with our grassroots leaders and organizations, who have been fundamental in past community activations. We are ready to show the holiday spirit that South Central Los Angeles has,” he added.
“Events like Winter Wonderland crystallize my deep appreciation for the people and families that make up South LA,” Harris-Dawson added. “The festive music, decorations, and overall atmosphere reflect the diversity of our district. I am grateful for this collaboration that ensures Eighth District families, neighbors, and friends can come together and create memories at safe, fun events in our community.”
