The Space Frontier Foundation has announced that they will be hosting a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion pitch competition. The purpose of this competition is to unlock the space industry and mentor youth in the opportunities that this industry can provide.

“By hosting competitions like these we are unlocking a lifetime of opportunities for young faces who would otherwise not be exposed to this level of mentorship. We look forward to not only meeting and elevating the winners but cultivating the next generation of leadership in the space industry,” said Space Frontier Foundation Executive Director Ann Kapusta.

“I can only imagine the benefits a competition like this would have had for me as I explored opportunities in the field,” added Junia Janvier, an undergrad student at Boston University and project lead. “I can’t wait to help usher in the next class of young and eager innovators who are sure to transform the industry.”

With the help of the National Space Society International Space Development Conference, this competition for underrepresented kids with a passion for space, entrepreneurship and diversity, equity, & inclusion efforts will be taking place from May 27 to 29 in Arlington, Va.
