Sport Summit at UCLA focuses on the business side of athletics

Major players from the business side of sports will meet at UCLA this Monday, July 13, for the Sport Summit.

The event will feature a wide variety of intensive subjects addressing key issues affecting the practice of sports and entertainment management, professional athletic representation, public relations, endorsements, sports law, advertising, technology, brand/ image, and proper-non profit management. The Sports Summit will host the top sports and entertainment executives to lead panel discussions followed by a keynote presentation addressing the State of Sports.

Key figures at this event include Andre Farr, CEO of the Black Sports Agents Association; Calvin Andre, Sr. vice president, BDA Sports; Christine Sim, Los Angeles Sparks president & COO; Byron Davis, Authority Marketing & personal brand coach – Paid To Be You; Aaron Gordon, Orlando Magic power forward; Ed O’Bannon, UCLA Basketball Hall of Fame; Jay Brown, VP of Talent – AFi; Lavetta Willis, founder of Dada Footwear, and Olu Green, sports brand marketing expert.

The event, which begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 11 a.m., will be held at UCLA’s Korn Convocation Hall. The opening discussion will touch on marketing, branding, and personal image. The next session will discuss league operations, player representation, and economic impact. The final session will discuss the state of sports, and securing internships. There will be a question and answer period after each session.
