Alleged gang members charged in Valley burglaries

VAN NUYS – Threealleged gang members were charged Thursday, April 5, with burglarizing homes inthe San Fernando Valley, the district attorney’soffice announced.
QuintinMoreland and Dwayne Seymore, both 23, were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoonat Van Nuys Superior Court, Department 100. They are charged in case with onecount each of first-degree residential burglary and receiving stolen property,with an allegation the crimes were done to benefit a gang, said Deputy DistrictAttorney Janet Fox.
Thepair allegedly broke into a home in the 2300-block of Aetna Street in Woodland Hills onTuesday. A newly formed LAPD task force stopped the pair in a rental car andallegedly found property in the car’s trunk that appeared to be stolen.
Bothmen, suspected Rollin 30s Crips gang members, are on probation in anotherburglary case. In addition, Moreland, a Los  Angeles resident, was wanted on a felony warrantcharging him with a 2010 kidnap and rape.
In aseparate case, Ryeheem Evans Johnson, 19, was charged in case with two countsof first-degree residential burglary with a gang allegation. He is scheduled tobe arraigned in the same courtroom.
Johnson,a suspected 62 East Coast Crips gang member, allegedly broke into a Van Nuyshome in the 4300-block of Hazeltine  Avenue on March 29  and stole jewelry. Thehomeowners gave police a video of the defendant ransacking the house.
Johnsonwas arrested Tuesday after allegedly breaking into a Reseda home in the 19400-blockof Victory Boulevard.He allegedly took off when he realized the homeowner was inside and was callingpolice. Officers responding saw a man matching the suspect’s descriptionand arrested Johnson after a short pursuit.
At theVan Nuys jail, officers recognized Johnson from a poster made off the video ofthe earlier burglary.
