Three steps to a successful attitude

This week’s Ultimate Transformation Moment looks at a positive mental attitude.

Your attitude is a reflection of an emotional response to any given situation. Your attitude determines the way you approach life. It is a mental tone of sorts and an outward expression of your thoughts and feelings.

From the earliest childhood moments, we should teach our children to see themselves positively, through expressions of love and praise. However, to do this, parents, mentors and leaders must also see themselves and young people positively. The adults must improve how they see themselves, their life and circumstances, so that their experiences will always represent the person they want to be.

We tell the youth that their attitude is the determining factor to success and happiness, and that they should not let current circumstances stop them. We want them to keep a positive attitude and positive thoughts of self. These allow them to look past the current circumstance to see themselves successfully. The same is true for adults.

Keeping a positive attitude will always help a person rise above any negative circumstances.

Conversely, a negative attitude will generally lead one to blame others or their circumstances for their current negative situation.

Here are three simple things to do, to create a positive attitude and mindset:
* First and foremost, love yourself enough to do the second thing.
* Second, wake up each and everyday with a winning attitude. Know that you can win. To win is to get the most out of each day, when you have a positive attitude and give your best effort. The world will mirror your best effort.
* Third, expect all things positive. Expect something good to happen. When you put in the work and you’re doing the right things and being a good person, then you’re creating a positive energy the world is going to send back to you. Now you experience success in those areas of your life that you focus on, i.e., academically, physically, spiritually, and mentally.

View yourself and your children in a positive light, with a positive attitude and reap all the benefits that a positive mental attitude will bring.

That’s our Ultimate Transformations Moment. Peace and be more.
