County officials recently announced that they will launch a new program aimed at tracking down the worst offenders who have not made child support payments.
Modeled on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list, posters of the 10 “most egregious” child-support evaders will be posted around the county.
David Sommers, press deputy for county Supervisor Don Knabe, said that the 10 have displayed “patterns of behavior that have gone to extremes to avoid child support payments. Together they owe more than $2 million in unpaid child support for 17 children, with individual amounts ranging between $63,000 and $427,000.
District Attorney investigators have been tasked with tracking down and arresting child support evaders using $500,000 of county funds.
