Long Beach was awarded $5.4 million dollars Thursday with a Homeless Continuum of Care grant to help fund 30 homeless services programs.
The federal grant is the largest that the city has received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The funds will aid the Health Department in working with community partners to provide health and social services for homeless individuals and families. Fourteen of the projects are based at the city’s Multi-Service Center, 11 are at the Villages at Cabrillo and five are citywide.
