Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall opens Thursday
Point Man Antelope Valley and the City of Palmdale will present the Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall for the Antelope Valley (AV Wall) on display from Thursday, Nov. 7-Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 8 a.m. at the Palmdale Amphitheater.
The public will have 24-hour access to the AV Wall while it is on display. An opening ceremony will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. It will feature a multi-branch Jr.-ROTC Color Guard, led by Major Conrad Hernandez of Highland High School, and consisting of members from various schools in the Antelope Valley Union High School District.
New bridge to be installed over El Paseo Drive
The city of Santa Clarita will install a new steel truss bridge to replace an older structure over El Paseo Drive between Alberto Court and Baleria Court starting Monday, Nov. 4. The pedestrian bridge is expected to be closed for about 10 weeks and anticipated to open January 2014.

Palmdale to host Housing Rights Clinic
The city of Palmdale and the Housing Rights Center will host a free walk-in housing rights clinic on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 1-4 p.m. at Palmdale City Hall, 38250 Sierra Highway. Housing rights clinics are held on the third Thursday of every month in Palmdale and provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions and receive answers about fair housing, rent increases, repairs and more.
