Fairfax High School has the low post on lockdown. That is because 6’3” power forward/center Marguerte Effa, who can practically jump out of the gym, dominates the painted area. She is tall, lean, quick, athletic and physical, which allows her to have her way near the basket.

LAUSD develops culinary arts students while promoting healthy lifestyle
Years ago at the high school level students took “Home Economics” or “Foods” and many students simply called it “cooking class.” But times have changed, as these classes are now looking like Bravo Channel’s “Top Chef.” The term “cooking class” does not do these programs justice, as culinary arts classes in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) are teaching students the theories behind this art, and they are preparing students to enter into the profession.
Double standard continues with Black athletes
The Richard Sherman saga shows that this country, as far as it has come, still has race relation issues, as Black people as a whole are still viewed by the lowest common denominator, while White athletes are given a pass.
