In celebration of opening day for MLB, the Los Angeles Dodgers and fast food chain Habit announced their partnership and the debut of Dodgers x Habit Home Base, a newly reimagined Dodgers-inspired Habit located just minutes from Dodger Stadium at 2134 W. Sunset Blvd.
Designed as a must-visit destination for fans, the refreshed space brings together the energy of game day with Habit’s signature fresh, cooked-to-order favorites. Guests will be surrounded by Dodgers pride in every detail. New elements include bold blue lighting, refreshed Dodger-blue upholstery, new outdoor signage, vintage Dodgers-inspired photography, and a striking neon installation.
“If we’re going to celebrate this partnership, we’re going to do it properly,” said Jack Hinchliffe, chief marketing officer at Habit. “Two L.A. greats coming together deserve something spectacular; that’s why we decided to build something enduring: a place fans, with or without game tickets, can show up at and be part of. Fresh food, Dodgers energy—it’s a spot to make a proper day of it.”
Acclaimed Los Angeles street artist Ali Gonzalez made an appearance at the opening as he was tasked with creating a mural to represent the new partnership between organizations. “The concept of the mural came fairly easily to my mind because I’m combining my favorite burger spot with my favorite team on top with one of the slickest cars ever.” Gonzalez is well-known for his artwork around the city, having created murals of Shohei and Decoy, Kobe, Canelo vs. Crawford, and many more.
Another star of the show was the iconic blue Chevy made infamous by Ice Cube when he rolled into Dodger Stadium with the World Trophy. “Yeah, I know the owner of Big Wit (name of the blue Chevy), and I told him about the mural and asked him if I could incorporate Wit into the project because it would be great for everybody involved,” Gonzalez said. Gonzalez met Big Will, the owner of the blue Chevy, while creating another mural but didn’t realize who he was until later on. “Yeah, he actually called my phone while I was finishing another mural and told me he was in the city with his 57, but I’m like, who is this guy? And when we linked up, and I saw the car, the memory of Ice Cube riding around in it was the first thing that came to my mind.”
Gonzalez continued by thanking Habit and the LA Dodgers for the opportunity. “I’m happy I can do this for the community and the fans. Growing up in LA, it’s all about the Dodgers. Being here today, younger me wouldn’t have believed it.”
