The environment and the maintenance of it is a very important issue. Residents of Antelope Valley have an opportunity on Saturday, Sept. 21, to engage in a community and environmentally beneficial event. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is partnering with Heal the Bay to host a Community Cleanup Day taking place from 9 to 11 a.m. at Apollo Community Regional Park, 4555 W Avenue G, in Lancaster.
This community cleanup is a way to make a positive impact on the environment and community. Necessary items will be provided to volunteers to pick up and dispose of trash. Attendees are advised to bring their own garden gloves, bags, buckets and water bottle. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, snacks and a hat, the weather can be hot.
