Latest Public Health statistics

If you’re looking to stay healthy throughout the summer now is the time to begin taking precautions. The Los Angeles County Public Health Department reported 61 new COVID-19 cases among Black citizens. The figure represents a decrease of 19 cases within the Southland Black community through Spring 2024. The County recorded one death among Blacks since the end of May. The total number of undiagnosed Black cases are 197,446 with a total of 3,332 deaths. 

The New Respiratory Virus Guidance recommends that citizens stay home and away from other individuals at least a day after symptoms improve and fever has gone away.  The New Respiratory Virus guidance also advises that for the next five days after time at home away from the general public is completed.

Some individuals remain contagious beyond the “stay-at-home” period additional precautions such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others. Getting tested for respiratory viruses can lower the chance of spreading respiratory viruses.
