Car fanatics and “Fast & Furious” fans, be excited as FuelFest returns for its 7th year at a new location. This year, the show will display more than 600 top custom, exotic, rare, and exclusive cars and trucks, plus replica movie cars used, and various interactive fan racing activities and attractions at the Pomona Fairplex located at 1101 W McKinley Ave. on Saturday, June 28. Gates for the event open to the public from 2-9 pm. Admission tickets start at $35 per person, and kids 12 and under are free.
“It’s bittersweet moving locations after four years at the Irwindale Speedway, but now at the Fairflex, we can incorporate drag racing using the NHRA drag strip,” Cody Walker, brother of Paul Walker, said, detailing the event. “ It’s going to be a super exciting and fun day filled with drifting, drag, car showcase, fireworks, music, and so much more that the entire family can enjoy.”
There are judged car show sections, best-of-show awards, trophies, drag racing, exit parades, and more. The FuelFest race pits are open access, allowing fans to get close to their favorite race cars and see what these amazing machines are all about. FuelFest also features an all-new popular showcase area: Taste of Tokyo, giving fans a Japanese underground car meet vibe with cars that lurk in the streets of Tokyo.
“We are thrilled to work with the team at FuelFest to incorporate NHRA Drag Racing into an already popular Southern California event that makes its debut this summer at the Los Angeles County Fairplex and In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip,” says Kasey Coler, NHRA Vice President of Track Management and Operations. Participants will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to race down the legendary Pomona drag strip that has made the sport and its stars world-famous. This is certainly going to be a can’t-miss event!”
Launched in 2018, FuelFest has created a world-class automotive celebration incorporating live entertainment and art. The festival impacts enthusiasts of all ages, communities, and the industry. “I wanted to gather car lovers together at a fun and safe event to enjoy the automotive culture together while also giving back,” Walker said about the creation of Fuelfest. Walker also uses proceeds from the event to donate to Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW), founded in 2010 by the late actor/producer Paul Walker. After a massive earthquake devastated Haiti, Paul spontaneously organized a relief team that responded to the disaster.
Cody and Fuelfuest have raised over $600,000 through the partnership with ROWW to benefit those in need and have deployed resources to several disaster areas, including recently for the Los Angeles Wildfires, Asheville, NC, and Englewood, FL, following hurricanes Helene and Milton, Lahaina, Hawaii, Türkiye, and more. Additionally, Cody and Felicia Walker collaborated with The Weather Channel in 2022 on a new series, Home Rescue, to help rebuild homes across the United States impacted by natural disasters.
