A celebration of Black love, entrepreneurship, and community, last Friday, Emmy-winning actress and social media maven Tabitha Brown released a his-and-her fragrance line with her husband, Chance Brown, called “Fridays by Tab and Chance.”
Fridays by Tab and Chance consists of a perfume known as “Her Business” and a cologne known as “His Business,” both sold and used separately, but when combined, they morph into a new fragrance called “Their Business.” The name of the fragrance line is derived and inspired by the married couple’s popular weekly podcast, “Fridays with Tab and Chance,” in which they discuss a multitude of topics such as love, relationships, spiritual faith, and more.
The fragrance launch event was held at the Laya Restaurant in Hollywood, a venue that includes warm lighting, an outdoor and indoor seating area, and multiple bars placed in various corners of the venue. Laya is known as a vibey New Middle Eastern hotspot, and upon stepping into the venue, guests were able to see gorgeous portraits of the couple above the outdoor seating area behind giant glass-crystal sculptures of the 90’s African statue-inspired bottles. Tabitha and Chance Brown wore hues of clothing Brown, beige, bronze, and nude colored outfits while guests arrived in color coordinated attire to match.

The event also had a gold carpet with over 250 guests in attendance, including actors such as J. Alphonse Nicholson (“P-Valley”), Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”), Anthony Davis (“The Family Business: New Orleans”), their daughters Choyce and Tyleah Brown, actor Shaka Smith, and others alike. Comedian Kevin Fredericks (also known as KevOnStage) and his wife, Melissa, also attended. Many of the guests were able to smell the fragrances, take photos, and even dance on the dance floor with music provided by DJ Iesha Irene.
The scents and notes used to create “Her Business” include hints of bergamot, orange flower, cocoa, and vanilla caramel, giving it a soft yet regal appeal fit for any woman. Chance’s “His Business” consists of cedarwood, bergamot, suede, and musk, offering a rich and strong cologne scent. “Their Business” consists of both fragrances applied together, which creates an entirely new aromatic experience.

Actress Yvette Nicole Brown spoke to Our Weekly and described Tabitha’s “Her Business” scent as “citrus-y, amazing, light, floral, and beautiful.” Her husband and fellow actor Anthony Davis said Chance’s “His Business” cologne scent made him “feel like I’m on top of a mountain and a cool breeze just hit me!”
The newlyweds also spoke about the significance and meaning of Black love. “Black love to me is excellence, communication, and reciprocity,” said Nicole Brown. Davis followed up and said, “Black love is spiritual. There are so many dimensions and levels of spirituality [to Black love]. It’s both me and her in charge… we come together.”

Our Weekly did not get a comment from the Tabitha and Chance Brown at the event, but the two released a joint statement a few days before: “We are incredibly proud of our collaboration on designing and formulating Fridays,” say Tabitha and Chance. “It’s a love story in scent form—individually beautiful, but when we come together? Oooh, it smells amazing.”
Actor and host Shaka Smith was elated to celebrate Black love and the joint venture of the Browns. He spoke about his initial reaction to smelling the fragrance and said that “His Business” is earthy while “Her Business” is floral and uplifting. He spoke about what Black love meant in scent form. “It means warm, inviting, and welcoming.” Smith’s new podcast, “Wander Well,” is available now on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Fellow married couple Kevin and Melissa Fredericks were excited to support the Browns and spoke to Our Weekly on the gold carpet. “We love Tab and Chance. We were lucky enough to smell the fragrances at the pre-launch event, and they both smell amazing,” said Melissa. Kevin then added, “Melissa and I are in business together and learning how to do it better. To see Tab and Chance launching [the fragrances] is really inspiring… I love to see Black families starting and owning businesses together.”
