Suffering and healing are processes that all humans go through, but we manage them differently. Creative Recovery LA is a center for persons seeking healing via innovative methods.
The way we handle these experiences results in varying long-term and short-term solutions. Cory B. Savage has found a way to heal from his own suffering and help others heal from theirs through the use of music, art, and creativity.
Savage was a creative director who has worked with the likes of Mary J Blige, Robin Thicke, Wyclef Jean, Venus Williams, and many more. During Savage career and personal life, he faced challenges such as sexual violence, witnessing the effects of drug and alcohol addiction, and growing up in an abusive household that led him to a dark place in life.
“I was in a relationship with an addict, and for people looking from the outside in, it looked like this relationship broke me, but it was the catalyst that reminded me what I’ve been through,” Savage said as he spoke about his breakthrough after the breakup. “It was ultimately the loss of the family unit that broke my mind and made me suicidal, and once I started my regiment to keep my mind off things, I realized the routine wasn’t working, and a change was needed.”
That day he realized he needed to change his routine was the same day his uncontrollable thoughts almost led him to commit as he imagined shooting himself. With the help of a close friend, he was able to avoid that situation and, shortly after, started reaching out to his insurance to see what type of help he could get. Savage quickly learned that he wasn’t qualified for the help he needed, and the alternative was a psych ward, which was not an option.
“I locked myself in my apartment and started using music, yoga, art, and frequency healing to help me, and after a while, I realized this program is what I needed.” Savage took his method and now has expanded it to open his creative healing facility backed by specialists. ” We do a creative assessment to help clients not only identify their suffering and what has caused it but also find a creative way to express and heal from it.”

“To recover from the suffering, we have to cure the wound from the core. People will put up boundaries and have excuses to cover the wound, but the only way to heal is to go directly to the spot where it hurts the most.” Savage said.
