The Tom Hilzendeger Veteran of the Year Award aims to honor a veteran’s exceptional bravery, dedication and sacrifice, regardless of rank or service branch, emphasizing those individuals who demonstrate a readiness to contribute to their community through selfless service.
The award recipient will be acknowledged for their exceptional service, and the announcement will take place annually in May during a City Council meeting.
Eligibility requirements:
• The nominee must be a resident of the
Antelope Valley.
• Open to active duty personnel, reservists and
honorably discharged retired military service
members.
• Nominees must hail from one of the follow
ing branches: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines,
Coast Guard or National Guard.
Nominations are due by March 31, 2025. To
