Arson suspect in custody

An arson suspect was taken into custody by personnel from the Enforcement Bureau (SEB) of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department hours after he barricaded himself inside a Palmdale apartment.
The barricade was reported around 5 p.m. Oct. 6, and SEB assisted the sheriff’s Palmdale Station.
Details about the fire were not provided, and a description of the suspect was not provided.
A news videographer reported the man was suspected of setting fire to his neighbor’s car about 8 p.m. Saturday and that he fled. The suspect reportedly attempted another vehicle fire at 4 a.m. Sunday and returned home at about 10 a.m. when Palmdale deputies were called to the scene. SEB arrived about 5 p.m.
Residents from the surrounding houses were evacuated to safety, according to LASD.
The SEB reported about 11 p.m. that the suspect was detained without incident and evacuated residents were allowed to return to their homes.
