The community of Watts is gearing up for another celebration this summer. The Watts Culture Fest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the headquarters of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee, 10950 S. Central Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Parking will be free and available. 

The Watts Culture Fest was launched in February and is a year-round vendor marketplace. The event is designed to empower Watts and South Central community stakeholders to preserve and celebrate their cultural heritage. 

There will be a number of food vendors such as Ankh Juice, Big B the Chef, Jayy’s Lemonade, Magnolia St. Kitchen, Not So Instant Coffee, Tommy’s Good Food, Tortacos Cansado Del Camino, and Watts Waffles.

Workshops and hands-on activities will be featured, including Bilingual Coloring BooksBJoe Jam Comic Books, Watts on Wheels, a sneaker and shoe design workshop with Zapatos as well as  giveaways from Converse and also a ceramics exhibition..
