With the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency ending on March 31, Medi-Cal beneficiaries will be required once again to renew their Medi-Cal benefits annually to keep their coverage active.

Renewal packets mailed to customers should be completed and returned to DPSS as soon after receipt as possible.

Medi-Cal — California’s version of Medicaid — provides free or low-cost healthcare coverage for California residents with limited income and resources. In Los Angeles County alone, over 3.7 million individuals have health coverage through Medi-Cal.

Our Weekly coverage of local news in Los Angeles County is supported by the Ethnic Media Sustainability Initiative, a program created by California Black Media and Ethnic Media Services to support minority-owned-and-operated community newspapers across California.
