The Los Angeles County Public Health Department reported 1,083 new COVID-19 cases among Blacks over the last week (up by 249). The county also recorded two deaths among Blacks since last Tuesday (down by two souls). Black Women Rally for Action – Los Angeles County mourns with all the family members, friends, and individuals who have experienced losses and illness.

There were 702 Blacks, 12-year-olds and older, vaccinated last week (May 6 to 12) in Los Angeles County, compared to 828 the week before.

The group recommends unvaccinated Blacks talk to their physician, pharmacist, and vaccinated family members about getting vaccinated. If gathering with anyone at higher risk of severe illness or who is not fully vaccinated, do so safely outdoors as much as possible, consider wearing masks indoors and keep your distance while eating and drinking. COVID-19 medicines are available by prescription. Visit http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/medication/.

Black Women Rally for Action – Los Angeles County is a coalition of individuals and groups who provide a mechanism for Los Angeles County Black women to advocate on behalf of their health and well-being.
