Kelli Bernard new chair of homeless services committee


Kelli Bernard is the new commission chairperson of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA). Bernard will serve in the position for the upcoming fiscal year.

Bernard was appointed to the LAHSA in 2016 by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and is expected to begin her term as commission chair on Aug. 24. Bernard is also co-chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Black People Experiencing Homelessness and is a member of the Policy, Planning and Personnel committees.

“I’m honored to lead the LAHSA Commission and excited to continue the unique country-city collaboration as seen in the Los Angeles Continuum of Care.,” Bernard said recently. She added that she will will continue to work closely with her colleagues with the LAHSA to assist with “equitable distribution” of the wealth of services and resources offered by the LAHSA.

Bernard serves on the board of City Charter Schools which provides educational services to students throughout the city. She also works closely with the Urban Land Institute which assists city planners in  developing a strategy for the most effective use of land within the city of Los Angeles.
