Tarzana shooting death

TARZANA (CNS) – A man was arrested today for allegedly fatally shooting a woman in Tarzana after driving her to a dirt trail to test-fire his handgun, police said.

Heriberto Gonzalez of Reseda, 20, was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of Angela Hernandez, 24, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Hernandez died at a hospital on Sunday, the LAPD reported.

“Detectives’ investigation revealed that on (Sunday) at about 3:15 p.m., Ms. Hernandez, the suspect, and witnesses drove to the south end of Vanalden Avenue in the city of Tarzana,” a police statement said.

“They exited their car and hiked up a dirt trail to test-fire the suspect’s handgun,” police said. “Upon returning to their car, the suspect shot Ms. Hernandez.”

Witnesses took Hernandez to the hospital, where she died. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at (818) 374-1934, or (877) LAPD-247.
