Celebrate America tomorrow on The BLVD in downtown Lancaster as the city presents its yearly salute to present and past members of the military.
The event, scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m., will feature live musical entertainment, a classic car show, a pie eating contest and a variety of activities tailored for all ages. The following is a schedule of events:
—Rat Pack at 5 and 8 p.m., Just Us at 6:45 p.m. at Lockheed Martin Stage (at Fern Avenue);
—Opening ceremonies at 6 p.m., Lady Liberty at 5:20, 7:20 and 8:20 p.m.; Captain America at 5:40, 6:40, 7:40 and 8:20 p.m. at BeX Bandstand Stage;
—Kiss the War Goodbye at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Cedar Avenue (lawn);
—9/11 Memorial (Ehrlich Avenue) at 5:10, 7:10 and 8:10 p.m.; Iwo Jima (LPAC) at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.; Vietnam Memorial (Fern Avenue) at 5:45, 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 p.m.; and
—Korean War (library lawn) at 6:15, 7:15 and 8:15 p.m.
Various “roaming” entertainment will include Lady Liberty, Captain America, Neil Armstrong and Kiss the War Goodbye. The pie eating contest (for children) will take place at 6 p.m., with the adults having a go at it at 7 p.m. There will be a special pie eating contest between members of the county Sheriff’s and Fire departments beginning at 8 p.m.
