The City of Compton has announced the 2024 Compton Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 11 am to 1 pm. The parade route will commence at Compton Boulevard and Bullis Road with participants and viewers lining up down Compton Boulevard through the end of the parade route at Alameda Street.
The Compton Christmas Parade has grown into a beloved tradition, highlighting the joy and unity of the holiday season. This year’s theme, “A Holly Jolly Hub City,” honors the vibrant diversity of the city. Thousands of community members are expected to gather along the streets to enjoy thrilling performances by the Compton High School Marching Band, along with appearances by the Compton Cowboys, drill teams, equestrian groups, and more!
Compton is honored to announce that the Grand Marshals for this year’s parade are Compton Cowboys, Violet Palmer, Jason Martin, Marcellus Wiley, and Yosie Reynaga. The Compton Cowboys are well-known in the community and help provide a positive influence on inner-city youth. As a retired American basketball referee in the NBA and WNBA, Violet Palmer was the first female official to reach the highest competitive tier in any major U.S. professional sports league.
Rapper Jason Martin was reared in Compton and has become a trailblazer in the music industry. Marcellus Wiley, a former NFL star turned charismatic media personality, has always been on a journey to defy the odds and elevate others. Additionally, Yosie Reynaga from Charros de Compton, also known as Cowboys of Compton, is proud to represent the Latino culture and is a testament to the city’s diversity.
