Spend your holidays in New Orleans and enjoy a boat ride down the Bayou to see one of Disney’s favorite princesses as she has opened her new restaurant. Located in the newly renamed Bayou Country in Disneyland Park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a whimsical water ride that’s fun for the family! The attraction’s story picks up after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog,” as Tiana is preparing to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season honoring her employee-owned business, Tiana’s Foods. You’ll encounter Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Gator Pal Louis, and many adorable new critters. The ensemble of familiar and new friends – plus a lighthearted story and catchy music throughout – create the recipe for a fun first “big kid ride.”
The food Tiana has crafted at her restaurant, Tiana Palace, is the best the Bayou has to offer as the menu includes lots of classics such as Catfish Po’boy, Jambalaya, House Gumbo, 7 Greens Gumbo with Chicken & Andouille Sausage, among many other options. The Palace also offers desserts like Classic and strawberry-filled Beignets.
Another place guests can eat is the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in New Orleans Square.
This place offers a BBQ menu for you to enjoy with meals like Smoked Barbecue Combo Platter with a selection of house-smoked meats, Barbecue Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwiches, among other food and dessert options.
“We wanted people to understand that Tiana is a princess for everybody and yes she is a Black princess, her values are what we wanted everybody to connect with,” Sybil Crum, VP of Market and Commercial strategy at Disneyland said about Tiana and what led to her attraction creation.
“Her resilience, strong character, and hardworking mentality are things every parent wants their child to develop, and we want to show that there are universal aspects to her story that everybody can lean into.”
Tiana also received merchandise such as sweaters, hats, cookbooks, and light-up firefly accessories. All items are available at Louis’ Critter Club, Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, and Ray’s Berets in New Orleans Square.
The entire attraction will open on Nov. 15, and the staff is excited for your arrival at this newest experience. They hope you enjoy reconnecting with Princess Tiana and her friends while indulging in classic New Orleans cuisine.
