Should Congress protect reproductive rights?

Message from Rep. Sidney Kamlager-Dove

I am joining House Democrats around the country in a Reproductive Freedom Day of Action, where we highlight the state of reproductive freedom in our country and the need to safeguard reproductive rights for women everywhere.

Since the Supreme Court issued the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision last June, overturning Roe v. Wade and decades of precedent, women have faced abortion bans and extreme restrictions to abortion access around the country. Even though over 85 percent of Americans want abortion access to be legal, conservatives are hell-bent on turning back the clock on reproductive care. Some states have successfully launched agendas to ban abortion with twenty states already enacting abortion bans or extreme limits on abortion access.

House Democrats, however, want to strengthen health care access and equity for all. That is why on Sept. 6, I hope you will join me for my in-person Health Care Town Hall to discuss how Democrats in Congress are working to protect reproductive rights and health care access.

I want to know – how do you feel about abortion access? Please voice your opinion by following me and my work for the 37th Congressional District on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
