Plenty of music and fun in store

Throughout the summer, the City of Lancaster has been hosting Cool Summer Nights and Cool Summer Vibes: two distinct event series that aim to build community in the City's outdoor spaces. As part of the ongoing 'Parks Make Life Better' Month celebrations in July, these series offer local community members the perfect opportunity to get outside, take in the beauty of Lancaster's parks, connect with others, and embrace the summer season. While June has come to an end, there are still exciting events lined up for July, so be sure to mark your calendars and join in on the upcoming festivities.

“Lancaster’s outdoor spaces create so much joy,” said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Our Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services team hosts great events year-round, and Parks Make Life Better Month is a great excuse to spend time in the fresh air with family, friends, and our Lancaster neighbors. We’re excited to have expanded our ‘Cool Summer’ offerings to include daytime experiences so we can enjoy all that summertime has to offer as a community.”

The Cool Summer Vibes event series is a new addition to the City's summer event list organized by the Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services (PARCS) Department. Cool Summer Vibes will be held twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through July 27 at Jane Reynolds Park. The weekly themes of Splish Splash, All American Cookout, and Daytime Campout offer fun for the whole family. Learn more about Cool Summer Vibes at: www.cityoflancasterca.org/coolsummervibes.

Building on the success of last year’s debut, the tradition of Cool Summer Nights will continue this year. These evening events are held weekly on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. Each week brings food trucks and a new family-friendly theme, including 80’s night, water fun night, and festival night. The remaining Cool Summer Nights events will be held at Tierra Bonita Park on July 12, 19, and 26. Learn more about Cool Summer Nights at: www.cityoflancasterca.org/coolsummernights.

The Lancaster PARCS team hosts community events all year long. Learn more about Lancasters parks, the PARCS team, and other special events at www.cityoflancasterca.org/events.
