Every year, Metrolink,  the third largest commuter rail agency in the U.S., has nearly 12 million boardings — people who ditch their cars to avoid gridlock. This removes an estimated 8.9 million vehicles from the roads and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 128,700 metric tons.
