A Palmdale man who sexually assaulted his girlfriend and her 9-year-old daughter was sentenced this week to 15 years to life in state prison.
Edward Raymond Walten, 39, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and to stay away from the victims for 10 years, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Walten was driving his girlfriend and her daughter through the Littlerock area on March 24 when he began physically assaulting the woman, according to Deputy District Attorney Alexander Lara.
Walten then sexually assaulted his girlfriend’s young daughter before stopping the vehicle and sexually assaulting her mother in the desert, according to the prosecutor.
The woman called relatives, who then called police, who found Walten with the victims at the crime scene, Lara said. Walten has been behind bars since then.
He pleaded no contest June 4 to one count each of rape by force or fear and oral copulation with a child 10 years or younger.
